The Management Committee of the BCFA Youth League met last night, 1st March 2021 to discuss the return of grassroots football and finishing the 2020/21 season as well as some forward planning for 2021/22. Our main objective is to provide as much football as we can and give more teams in the competitive age groups an opportunity to play for a trophy.
The following decisions were made:
Following the result of the Questionnaire sent to member Clubs:
The Management Committee proposal on how to finish the Competitive Age Groups was carried.
So fixtures will be coming out for the new split divisions shortly. There will be one round of fixtures and only these will count towards final positions.
Further fixtures will be produced but will be classed as friendlies.
It was agreed that medals and trophies will given out for the winner of each split division.
The non-competitive age groups will continue as normal.
The start date for fixtures will be 10th/11th April.
Extending into June – The fixture secretaries will produce fixtures into June. There is no pressure on teams to play in June but fixtures are there if you want them. Please be mindful that if you use grounds in June (particularly but not exclusively, Local Authority) your provider may ask you to start next season later as they carry out repair and maintenance to pitches.
League fees for 2021/22 will be discounted by 50% as the Committee continue to offer support to the member clubs.
In line with previous seasons the BCFA will move up another age group to include Under 15’s.
The League will ask the Clubs on the intention form if you want any of your teams to remain in the same playing format due to the amount of football lost in the last two seasons. The League will run these formats provided there are enough teams to do so. This is for teams moving from 5 to 7 a-side and 7 to 9 a-side only. If teams ask to stay in their old playing format this will only be until xmas when they will be moved across to the next format.
The Management Committee are committed to working with the member clubs.
