Leigh Ramblers Football Club has been around for many years, we believe the Club dates back to 1898 and the Youth section was formed in 1976. In November 2008 we achieved the FA community club award after long and hard work by committee members and in May 2011 we were awarded Charter Community club of the year, and again in 2015. Leigh Ramblers Girls played their first match back in 2004 but the Girls section really took off in June 2009, when Howard Mackler started a Girls Team with his own daughter playing and a group of her friends at U10`s. Since then the Girls section has gone from strength to strength, winning many trophies over the years and some of the Girls that played in Howard`s first season have gone on to create a Ladies Team and to this day are still playing and Howard now runs the Ladies section. We play our home matches mostly at Belfairs Recreation Ground, Eastwood Road North, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 4LR and we train midweek at The Len Forge Centre, Eastwoodbury Lane Southend SS2 6UH and Play Football Southend, Chase High School, Southend SS0 0RT both venues have an all-weather 3G pitches and floodlights, which allow us to train throughout the winter. Our Home kit is Black & Royal Stripes, Black Shorts & Black socks, our Girls play in the Essex County Girls League, the Brentwood Community Football League and our Ladies play in the Essex County Women’s League and the Eastern Region Women’s League.
